October in Palermo is high tourist season and therefore early booking is strongly recommended.
Arrangements have been made for a block of rooms at special rates at the following hotels:

These rooms will be held for the Conference attendees until August 3, 2011 August 12, 2011. After this date, bookings are not guaranteed. Reservations will be accepted only if a credit card number is provided.

Cancellation Policy
In case of cancellations received up to:
• September 24, 2011 - no penalty,
• after September 24, 2011 - one night will be charged to your credit card,
• after October 1, 2011 or in case of "no show" - the full stay will be charged to your credit card.

The Excelsior Hilton Palermo is located in the commercial heart of the city, next to viale Libertà, the English Garden, Villa Garibaldi and Villa Trabia.
Built in 1891 to house the National Exhibition of Palermo, the recently refurbished Excelsior Hilton Palermo Hotel is considered to be one of the most prestigious historic hotels in Sicily. Initially intended to be dismantled at the end of the art show, its success and the idea of transforming it for use as a hotel led to the building that we see today, following careful restoration by the architect Ernesto Basile to whom the project was entrusted in 1925.

The Grand Hotel et des Palmes was founded in 1874 by the ancient patrician family Ingham - Whitaker, previously built in 1856 and connected by a secret passage to the Anglican Church which still faces the hotel. The building became an hotel after the transformation done by Ernesto Basile, one of the greatest masters of the Art Nouveau style, in 1907. The Grand Hotel et des Palmes, located in the very heart of Palermo's historical centre, offers the perfect location to explore the historical and cultural sites of Palermo by foot. It's one of the most legendary hotel s on the island of Sicily, having welcomed illustrious visitors since the 19th century including Richard Wagner, who finished Parsifal within one of its luxuriously-decorated suites.

A complimentary bus shuttle service will be provided from/to the Conference site before the beginning of the morning sessions and at the end of the afternoon sessions.
